In recent years, popular culture has been inundated with books, films, courses and products related to "The Mayan Calendar." Even Hollywood got in on the act with the 2009 blockbuster film, 2012. So what's all this hubbub really about? A cosmic cataclysm? The end of human life on Earth? The birth of a New Age of Enlightenment? Or just big load of B.S.?
In this two-hour participatory workshop, local writer and spiritual seeker Cole Hons will outline the basics of the Mayas' Tzol'kin calendar - a tool designed to chart the evolution of life and human consciousness on Earth. An introduction to this unique, ancient calendar will be presented, along with a historic outline of the of the calendar's re-emergence in modern times. The foremost contemporary authorities on the Tzol'kin will be introduced, along with their various theories about the calendar's meaning. Ample opportunity will be provided for interpersonal discussion within the group of participants about what this all truly means for us-right here, right now.
Cole Hons is an independent writer, musician, multimedia producer, and events organizer with a passion for universal spirituality and intercultural exchange. He began studying the Mayan Tzol'kin Calendar in 2004, and his quest for deeper knowledge eventually brought him face to face with Don Alejandro Oxlaj, a.k.a. "Wandering Wolf" - head of the Council of Mayan Elders and advisor to the president in Guatemala. In this workshop, Cole will share Wandering Wolf's message to humanity.
As an introduction to many of the topics that Cole will address in his workshop on the 19th, Cole is hosting a Free Webcast of Drunvalo Melchizedek's workshop on the Mayan Calendar on May 26th at 7:00 p.m. (at East West Crossings) Drunvolvo lives in Sedona, Arizona and for several decades has done workshops on spirituality. Additionally, Drunvalo has become the designated spokesperson to the "white world" for Wandering Wolf, head of the Mayan Council of Elders. Drunvalo is presenting a live global broadcast titled "The Birth of a New Humanity" and it relates to reconstructing the "grid of human consciousness." In these very times that we are living, Drunvalo teaches that we will complete their (our) work--catapulting humanity upward to a new stage of evolution beyond anything we have previously experienced. |
